The Story Behind This Print

From Dust to Bloom

Star Route

Mary Fields — known as "Stagecoach Mary" — was the first African American woman to carry the U.S. mail. In 1895, at around age 63, she won the Star Route contract in Cascade, Montana by being the fastest to hitch a team of six horses. For eight years she never missed a day. Our print honors her dedication through star postmarks, bundled letters, stagecoach lines, and Montana mountain silhouettes on deep indigo denim.

"Deliver on every promise — through snow, through storm, through everything."
