The Story Behind This Print
From Dust to Bloom
Mustang Herd Freedom
By the mid-1800s, over two million wild mustangs roamed the American West — descendants of Spanish horses, belonging to no one. On the high plateau of Utah and Nevada, herds ran in formation: the darkest lead, the lightest trail behind in a spectrum of power. Our ink-brush rendering captures that kinetic energy — thick bold strokes on leading edges, thin trailing lines on manes and tails, dust clouds rising in wheat gold washes.
Run with the herd, but never be tamed.
1971 Wild Free-Roaming Horses and Burros Act; Frederic Remington horse studies.
